Another Birthday Card

There is another birthday in my family coming up and I used the sketch challenge at Mojo Monday, challenge #376 for my card design.  The image is another free design that I got from a magazine and I think it is so cute.  I colored it with my copics and then die cut the frame to go around it.  Added some ribbon and some glitter to the image and it's done.  I know the person getting this card will love it.

Christmas Cards

Well I couldn't put off making my Christmas cards any more and had to get them done so I could mail them on Monday.  I used the sketch challenge at Just Add Ink, challenge #244, for my first card.  I love the combo of the greens and I think they look very Merry.

I used some background paper that I have had for a while and it was just perfect for the die cut circle and the Simon Says Stamp trees that I stamped and then cut out to put in the circle.

My second card is fashioned after a card that I saw on Gina K Designs, that I thought was just perfect for the Holidays, so I made the rest of my cards using this design.  I know all my relatives and friends will love them.
This card was so easy to make and worked really well since I had to make several of them.  I had some ornament stamps that I got free in a magazine.  I put them all on my stamp press along with the sentiment and because I was using a single color, I was able to stamp everything at once.  The black ribbon I got from Michael s and has a little glitter sparkle to it.  Because there is not much bulk to these cards, they will go through the mail just fine.                                                    Judy

Happy Birthday

I needed another birthday card so I used the sketch from Sweet Wednesday 2-37 as a model for my card.  I think this sketch is so versatile.  I love the image of the little girl on the bench and just had to use her for this card.  I used copic markers to color the image and used a die cut to back the image.  It's a very simple card, but so cute!

Christmas Card

I made this Christmas Card for the sketch challenge at Mojo Monday, challenge #376.  I used some more of my free card stock for the focal points, and a ornament die cut from The Stamps of Life to make the ornament.  I then added a die cut sentiment in the center. I added some faux stitching to add an extra touch.  Made a pretty card.

I'm Back!!

I have not posted in over a month because I have had knee replacement surgery and my card making mojo decided to take a little vacation!  As a result I am way behind in my cards both for birthdays and Christmas.  The pain meds have worn off enough to allow my mind to be creative again, so to get back in the groove, I made a card for Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge #373, which is a tall and skinny card.  It's a pretty sketch and this is what I came up with.  I got some free Christmas card stock with some magazines that I purchased recently, and I used those in combination with some of my stored clip art to make this card.  I think it's really pretty for my first try in a month.
Now I need to work on some birthday cards.   Hope my momentum continues!

Christmas Card

My card today is for a PPA Challenge #224.  It is time to start making Christmas cards so I used this challenge as my inspiration for this card.  The card stock I used is called Noel, which is a 6x6 paper pad from Reflections (Michaels brand).  All of the colors in this collection are muted so I chose the colors for my strips and mounted it on a green card stock base.  I stamped and cut out the Santa Face from the Stampin Up collection called Santa Stache.  I love the two images in thos collection and it worked well with the color palate.  I used Copic markers to color my Santa and used som Glossy Accents on the beard and mustache and on his hat.  I used a die cut from Elizabeth Crafts for the sentiment and then added some faux stitching for a little extra pop to the card.  On the inside of the card I plan to make a pocket type envelope to hold a gift card.  I just know one of my grandkids will love this card.  (Might be more for the gift card than the card itself, but that's okay.)

For A Dear Friend

This card was made for a challenge at Fusion Challenge .I enjoy doing the challenges from Fusion because they give you so many options to make your cards.  The theme for this challenge was to use wood grain and flowers or the sketch.  I did a combination of both.  I fussy cut the flowers and used a border punch to make the ovals.  I added the butterflies to add more interest and more color. The size of this card is 4 1/2" X 7"  and I really like how the card turned out.

Witching Hour

I made a card to enter in the PPA223 color challenge.  This challenge is for a halloween color challenge using  the colors black, orange and vanilla.  I used my electric die cutting machine to cut an image that I got from Birds Cards.  I cut it out in black, then backed it with orange card stock.  I also cut out a large flower shape in black to back this image.  I used a dark blue star design card stock from Graphic 45 as my background for all the images and then cut out a black cat to put on the front of the card with the sentiment.

Drink Coffee. . .

This card is for the sketch challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 and the theme is coffee.  Since I am a coffee drinker and can't start my day without a couple of cups, this image of Stella from Bugaboo Digi Stamps is so ME.  (Although these days even several cups of coffee does't give me much energy!)  One of my sharpest memories while growing up is the smell of coffee brewing on the old wood cook stove.  My Mom always had a pot going and I remember that is the scent that I woke up to every morning.

Best Wishes

This is an anniversary card for my niece.  I used sketch challenge #237 at Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge for my main design.  I love how it is simple but makes a big impact.  I embossed the blue background with the Swiss Dots Embossing folder, then used washie tape in black patterns for the strips.  I stamped the sentiment and cut it out for the front.  I'm sure she will love it.

Sympathy Card

A family member just lost her father and I wanted to make a card for her.  I searched all the sketch challenge sites that I have in my favorites folder to find a sketch that I thought would work for this card.  It's from Sketch Saturday #328 and I loved the layout.  I used a deep edge die cut from Birds Cards to create the bottom of the card layer on a basic A2 white card.  I used Broken China Distress Ink to stamp the center die cut with the sentiment.  I added two flowers for extra interest and this is my card.

Spooky Happy Halloween

This card is for the challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges #254.  I made a spider web die cut from gray cardstock.  I then embossed it with a silver metalic embossing powder to give it a little bit of sheen.  I printed out the Frankenstien clipart and tnen cut it out in the shape for the challenge.  I die cut the bat border (from Birds Cards) and then added the sentiments.  It makes a really cute card.  If I counting right I have to make four more halloween cards and then I will have all my grandkids and great grandbaies covered.  I love having lots of family to make cards for, and they all enjoy getting them!

HB2U

My niece's birthday is soon and I used the sketch challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 challenge #228 as the inspiration for my card.  I have been pulling out a lot of things from my stash lately and using  those items on my cards. The diagonal strip is from that stash.  I used a die cut for the circle and a SU flower stamp, colored it with Copics and distressed the edges.  I used letters from the Paper Studio for my sentiment.  I hope she likes it.

Happy Halloween

I made another halloween card to enter in the challenge #363  at Mojo Monday.  I have had some Graphic 45 Halloween cardstock for some time and have never used it, so I got it out and made this card.  I really like the color combination of orange and black with the printed paper,  and love how the card turned out.

Shiney Car Birthday

The challenge at Fusion Card Challenge was to use shinney pink like the photo, or the sketch as inspiration.   I used the photo and found a pink car grsphic thet I cut out. Then I added glitter to it to make it shinney.  I used another graphic of Nell from Becky's Place, and colored it then cut it to fint in the car.  I added the scalloped background to make the car pop, and some itty bitty flowers for extra intrest, then added the sentiment banner and a butterfly..

Trick or Treat

This card is for challenge #168 at Deconstructing Jen.  The challenge was to use something behind the image to create a background, like stenciling, or paste, or something similar.  I wanted a Halloween card and found a skull border svg cut file at Birds Cards. which I sized and cut out on my electronic cutter to make a stencil.  Using Antique Photo Distress Ink I created the skull background on my card.  I added the graphic and my stamps to the front of the card and also the inside.  I think it made a cute Halloween card.

Welcome Card for Violet

My Grandaughter had a baby girl on October 23 so I made this card for her.  She named the baby Violet so I used shades of purple on the card.  I used sketch challenge #167 from Decontructing Jen (but once again I was to late to enter). I rotated it for the idea of my card. The graphic of the baby in the carrage is a free graphic I downloaded.  I added a touch of lace and some round crystals to the carragie top, then put little crystal stars all over for some bling.

It's a Cookie Birthday

I made this card to have on hand for a young person's birthday and I used the sketch from Mojo Monday Challenge #360 as my insperation. I also entered my card in the Crazy 4 Challenges challenge #250, which was to use an animal.   The adorable puppy is from The Stamps of Life and she looks like my little dog Jazzie!  I colored her using Tea Dye Distress Ink and copic markers.  Then I die cut her out and used a wobbler to put on the back of the puppy so she moves and put her inside the card!  The background papers are free downloads that I printed out to make up the paw print background, then used a Spellbinder oval cut to make an opening for the puppy.  I cut out a bone that I trimed to resemble a dog bite.  I'm sure that the one who gets this card will have a fun birthday.

Robot Birthday

One of my Grandkids have a birthday coming up soon so I used the challenge at Technostamper, challenge TSSC #328, and it helped me make use of these Hero Art Stamps I have had forever! On a basic white card base I stamped the robots on a sand colored cardstock and then used my copic markers to color them. I backed the stamped images with steel grey cardstock and inked the edges. It's a simple but cute Birthday card for a younger one.

A Little Birdie Told Me . .

I'm entering my card into a color challange over at The Paper Players.  The colors are different for me but I rose to the challenge and made the following card.  The colors to be used were coral, honey, pink and grey.   I used the sketch challenge #208 at Try Stampin on Tuesday for the layout (although I was to late to enter my card in their challenge).  I think it turned out nice even though it's different.

I used my scalloped tag punch from SU to make the tags and the pink border is a Spellbinders die from Our Daily Bread.  The circle sentiment is from Birds Cards.  Paper used is from DCWV called The Old World Stack.  I love the texture of this paper.

Best Wishes/Make a Wish

I have two cards to post today.  The first one is for a challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges where the theme is 3D.  I made this card for my nephew's wedding and I love how it turned out.  This is the second one that I have made like this using a different color for the card base and as with all things, practice makes perfect, as this one came out much prettier.  The second card is for a color challenge at Paper Pals Art with Mary Fish using cantalope, blue and green.  The image is from Beasties which has terrific artwork, and the sentiment and candles are from the Stamps of Life.  Cute!

Marrage/Commitment

I made this card to submit to Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.  I needed an anniversary card and since I had this digi from Bugaboo Stamps, (the host for this weeks challenge) it was perfect for this card.  I have used this digi before and I love it, the sentiment is perfect.  I have had this paper pack for awhile now and it fit for the background papers for this card.
