Happy Wishes Again

I entered my foiled ballerina card in Tuseday Morning Sketches and placed in the top five.  Then I visited Try Stamping or Not on Tuesday and their current sketch is a lot like the one I just used, so I entered their challenge with my Ballerina card and then I entered it into the Simon Says Anything Goes Wednesday Challenge.  I love it when I can get extra mileage from a card.

Thank You

I needed a thank you card for my niece who had a small family gathering at her house.  I chose as my design inspriation sketch challenge #95 at Friday Sketches.  I used an electronic die cut card shape from Birds Cards to make the card base.  I also die cut the words Thank You and used the butterfly stamp from Gina K Designs for the large butterfly.  The smaller butterflies are cut with the dies from My Creative Time.  For the inside of the card a cut a second scalloped circle to make a section to write my message on.    Judy

Happy Wishes

For my card today I used the foiling technique.  I have watched lots of videos using the Mink machine, but since I don't have one I tried the technique that Jennifer Mcquire shows on her website.  I like the fact that she gives alternative ways to do some of these techniques without all the fancy equipment.  She did a foiled die cut using a large laser printed square. Well, I wanted to do something more detailed and I was not sure it would work, but I love how it did!  I have a ballernia fairy clipart that I purchased not long ago and wanted to try that in gold foil.  The lines are so delicate but when you move the picture it shows off the gold foil very nicely.  I then colored it with my copics and found that the foiling had left a sheen on the picture that distorted the coloring, but by blowing on the image as I colored it the colors looked how I wanted them to.  I used the sketch challenge #301 at Try Stamping on Tuesday for my card design and I love how this card turned out.  I tried to turn the card while I took pictures of it hoping to show off the foil.  It showes up okay on the pictures, but I am no photographer!  I can use this card as a birthday card or an anniversary card or even a friendship card.

I am definitely using this technique again. With all the wonderful foil colors available it will be fun to see what else I can make.
Hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend.  Judy

Just for You

I made a card using a couple of the new products from the SU Sneak Peak.  I am in love with the lace ribbon.  It is so easy to work with and makes lovely bows.  I entered this card in the Pals Paper Arts Color challenge, which was to use Baked Brown Sugar, Hello Honey, and Coastal Cabana.  What a great combo.  I used the Coastal Cabana for my card base, then cut the fancy lattice from the Baked Brown Sugar card stock.  The flowers are from the Butterfly Basics stamp set, and the label is from Label Love.  I stamped the flowers using the new Hello Honey ink and then filled them in using shades of yellow copic markers.  On the inside of the card I die cut the words Happy Birthday from some yellow scrap card stock.  (I believe that I saw the Baked Brown Sugar card stock is being discontinued, so I want to save what I have left, so I used a piece of Kraft card stock for the inside of the card!)  I like this card and plan to take it and make another one with my card group next week so they can also get a sneak peak at the new products I used.

A Birthday Card for my Granddaughter

My little Granddaughter has a birthday coming up soon and this is the card I made for her.   They have big dogs at their house, as in Great Danes, and I wanted to use clip art for that breed, but could not find anything I liked.  So I pulled out my newest card die cut from Stampendous, Fran;s Pop Up Set Build a Bouquet to make the frame, then used the coordinating Puppy Stamp set to make the dogs.  I pulled the stamped images into my computer to change the sizing to accommodate what I wanted for my card, then colored them with Copics.  I think this card turned out so cute and I know my Granddaughter will love it.

On the inside the head of the puppy wobbles just a little bit and the puppy moves like he is trying to stand up in the basket!  Love it.
