This is a color challenge so I used Stampin' Up's Pumpkin Pie ink to add a color wash to the pumpkin clipart and the cut them out. For the lattice I cut narrow strips of Wild Wasabi cardstock and then arranged them in the lattice pattern and glued them to the back of the black die cut frame. I stamped and cut out a butterfly and added that. It's a card that could be used for any reason during the fall. I have a friend that was injured recently and is not doing well. I have sent her a get well card, but wanted to use this card as a way to let her know I'm thinking about her.

Using a Chicklets gum package, I made the wrapper from Halloween themed paper to cover the gum box and then I added ribbon so that it could be pulled out of the box. I made two tags using the Stampin' Up tag punch, stamped the sentiment to be inserted in the tag pocket on one, and used the other tag for the backing of the gum pacet. I then added the self stick bat stickers to the gum. I am entering this card type treat in challenge #315 at the Paper Players which is a Halloween theme challenge this week.

My card for Mojo Monday challenge #465 is using the new stamp set from Stampin Up of Santa. I love the stamp as it is an old style Santa. I used my favorite technique of stamping, scanning it into my computer, then running the scanned image through my laminator to get a gold foiled image. I then colored it with my colored pencils to get a soft vintage effect. It makes for a clean and simple yet pretty card so I am also entering it in the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge which is Clean and Simple.
<strike></strike>
My amazing niece is having a birthday, and she has all boys. She is a great mother and because she is always surrounded by males, I wanted to make her a card that is very girlie!

The sketch challenge at Sketch Saturday, challenge #428, sponsored by A Day for Daises is perfect for this card. I loved these fairies when I first saw them and they can be used in any number of ways. My color theme for this card is purple which is one of my favorite colors, and I used the foiling technique on this card. To do this technique, I print out the digital image in black and white on regular printer paper using a laser printer, then I run that image through my laminator with gold foil over the image. Once the image is cool I peel away the foil and anywhere there was black ink is now gold foil. So much fun! I can then color the image with my copics, colored pencils or what ever medium I choose. I am going to make a dragonfly necklace for her which ties in with this fairy whose wings look like dragonfly wings to me.
I made a card to enter into a challenge at Mojo Monday, challenge #464 . It's been a long time since I entered one of the challenges at this site. I used a stamp set that I have had for a long time (in fact I think it's one of the first sets that I purchased when I started making cards) and it worked great for this challenge.
I stamped the phone, then colored it with colored pencils. I kept the coloring soft so it has a vintage feel to it. I die cut the tag and used the edge of my scissors to rough up the edges. I used gold glitter washie tape for one of the back elements, and then I put two pieces of floral washie tape together on white paper and cut it to size for the second element.JudysPaperWorkshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01785346233699874442noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4070068089925178083.post-62389365046905131052016-09-06T13:10:00.000-07:002016-09-06T13:10:46.455-07:00Woodland Snow Ride

This card is for a challenge at The Paper Players challenge #311. It's a theme challenge and the theme is circles. I first embossed a piece of white card stock with the Woodlands Embossing Folder from Stampin" Up. I used my brayer to apply Broken China distress ink on the inside of the folder for the skyline color. I then stamped in the tree from the Lovely As A Tree stamp set and then embossed my cardstock. I cut my image into a circle shape and attached it to the scallop circle shaped card base in olive green. I die cut my sleigh from chocolate brown card stock and also cut a sliver of white to make the snow for the bottom of the circle. Once my image was glued onto my card base I used the sparkle glaze from Mod Podge to dab onto the entire card front to make every thing sparkle. I made a bow using the bow maker punch to finish off the card.
For the inside I had a die cut that says Merry Christmas so I backed that with an oval cut from the olive green. Although I never went on a sleigh ride when I was young, I lived where we had lots and lots of snow and I always thought it would be fun. We had a hay wagon and cow that I don't suppose would have pulled us very fast or very far! Living in AZ now snow is just a memory and I like it that way.JudysPaperWorkshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01785346233699874442noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4070068089925178083.post-13722049208153879352016-09-04T01:13:00.001-07:002016-09-05T10:19:29.008-07:00Spooky PPA Challenge #316

I used a three step process for the skulls on this card for the challenge at PPA #316. First I stamped out the skulls, then I scanned them into my computer so I could print them out using my laser printer. Next I ran the printed images thru my laminator to color the skulls with foil. The top one is silver, the center one is gold and the bottom one is blue. The rest of the card is made with scraps from my stash. My lighting is not the best and does not do this picture justice.
Tall and Skinny Challenge #463

The tall and skinny challenges are one of my favorites. It's so much fun to push the envelope to come up with something a little different, and this card is one I really like. There are several different techniques on this card so it took awhile to make. Lots of embossing, stamping and even some foil work are on this card. I have watched a lot of the YouTube videos for this technique and have wanted to try it for some time. I need to practice a little more, but for my second try its not bad. For my sentiment I printed out the words with my laser printer and then used my laminator to add the blue foil (I just realized I spelled Christmas wrong lol! Maybe I need to get stronger readers!) I also added some glitter Mod Podge over the image panel so everything sparkles when turned in the light. I used my punch to make some little snowflakes to add around the card to complete it. I have several tree stamps, but this one from StampInUps' Lovely As A Tree, is one of the best.
My Christmas cards are coming right along. This sketch challenge from Sweet Sketch Wednesday Challenge #2-96 is a cute layout, and it worked really well for my card. I used this mouse on my last card and wanted to use him again. I embossed the brown background paper with a design that reminded me of what the inside of walls might look like, and sanded it down a little to give it some added dimension. My card base is from Old Olive cardstock, but the other elements are made from scraps from my stash. JudysPaperWorkshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01785346233699874442noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4070068089925178083.post-71815076668951674712016-08-25T16:51:00.000-07:002016-08-28T12:52:14.881-07:001st Christmas Card for this Year

I know that it is still early to start making my Christmas Cards, but I have some medical issues coming up in the near future, so wanted to start my cards early while I could still get up and move with some amount of comfort. I love the new Christmas stamps from StampinUp. This mouse is especially cute and so I used the color challenge #315 from Pals Paper Arts. This color combo works really well for this card. I stamped out the greeting in Dapper Denim, then stamped out the mouse image twice and colored one with my colored pencils. I fussy cut the sweater from the second stamped image and colored it with the So Saffron then glued it in place. The star is cut from a piece of glitter ribbon. I die cut my image in an oval shape and then cut a scalloped oval from Old Olive cardstock. I am also going to enter this card in a sketch challenge #62 at Stamp Ink Paper.
My niece and her husband have an anniversary at the end of the month so I used the challenge #314 at Pals Paper Arts to inspire my card. I had some of the gold envelope liners that I have never used so I made a die cut with the Crafters Companion Guilt Frame for my vertical piece, then using a piece of parchment paper I stamped the sentiment and then put it horizontally on my card. My background paper is a piece of tinted script that I had in my stash. I also cut out a butterfly from colored paper and added that to my card. It's a very simple card but the gold foil makes it elegant.

I have several anniversary cards to make this month, so using the sketch challenge at Paper Pals Arts, PPA challenge #312 as a take off point, this is my first card. I love this paper from StampinUp so I used it for my background. I then cut two hearts, added the sentiment to the larger one, inked the edges and then added faux stitching around the edges. I added some gold detail for a border and put it on a navy card base. Simple but pretty.
I have become obsessed with parchment on my cards. It is such a fun technique and the uses are endless. It is my sister-in-laws birthday and I found the free design that I printed out on my parchment paper and then did the embossing. I fussy cut the top border and then used a scalloped die to cut the bottom edge and then I added some color on the back side of the design. I think it looks great and I know she will love it.
It's been awhile since I have posted due to some problems with my eye sight. I love the idea of this challenge and really wanted to enter it into challenge #57 at Dragonfly Journeys. I have used this digital design before and I love it. For the wings I used some gold stickers that I placed on light blue vellum paper and cut them out. I colored my fairy with colored pencils, cut it out and put it on my background paper. I used some flower
and butterfly stickers and added touches of dazzle sparkles to make it
shine. I printed out the sentiment on clear vellum and added it to my
card front. I really like how this card came out.

I needed a birthday card for a male relative and wanted something fun without being to fussy. I used the sketch challenge #286 at Pals Paper Arts for my main layout and the sentiments are from the Big Day stamp set, stamped in pacific point ink. I added some doodling and coloring with ink and colored pencils for more detail. I need another card in a couple of days, so I think I will make another card using this same layout only turning on its side then use a different sentiment.
This
card is for challenge #285 at Pals Paper Arts. Its a color challenge
this week and once again the colors are wonderful to work with. The embossing folder is called Patchwork
Honeycomb, and I had to order it from Crafters Companion in the UK. (I
really love this folder and know I will use it often, so the shipping
was worth it.) I inked the inside of the folder with Melon Mambo before I
embossed the card stock so it would have a faded look The Flowers are
from the Flower Patch stamp set also stamped in Melon Mambo. I know the ink is different from the card stock but I think it looks good.

Challenge #284 at Pals Paper Arts this week is a sketch challenge. I used gold foiled vellum and stamped out the flower from the Best Thoughts stamp set and greeting from Butterfly Basics. I used water color pencils to add just a hint of color to the flower. It made a very clean and simple but sweet birthday card.

I made an interlocking gate fold card for the challenge at Pals Paper Arts challenge #283. These colors are a great combo, and I wanted to try this card technique. For the frame I used the Mint Macaroon, Melon Mambo for the flowers and then black to form the back side of the frame and the side piece. I used the Sweetbrier Rose stamp for the flowers. I first stamped them out on white card stock, then again on the Melon Mambo and cut out the flowers. The scallop frame is from WPlus 9. I saw this card technique on pre-made card bases, but I wanted to try my own die to accomplish the same design. I plan on making more cards using this technique with circle, oval, and heart dies just to name a few. Thanks Brian for a great color challenge.
This is so me in the mornings. I cannot start my day without at least two cups of coffee, and until I have that first cup I am really a fuzzy green monster with the shakes. I love this graphic so much that I put it on a T-Shirt. I am entering this card in the Dragonfly Journeys challenge #39, and the theme of this challenge is "Crack Me Up" which this monster does. I am also putting this card in the Shop Our Stash Challenge #234, requiring something from our stash which the graphic is and something new, which in my case is the splattered coffee background and the coffee bean border.

Another birthday card for the challenge at Sweet Sunday Sketch #300. I love the red with the brown paper and the simple outline flowers with a hint of color work really well on this card. (In the picture the top and bottom strip of paper look black, but is really a chocolate brown.) The circle frame is a stamp from Gina K Designs and the flower stamp is from Penny Black. The little center dots in the flowers are flat dots that are called Dazzles from Paper Wishes. I love using these as they give the same impact as the pearls without the bulk and they come in lots of colors and each sheet has several different sizes.
This card has a large patchwork star, snow flakes stamped on paper and lots of sparkle, which makes it a perfect entry for the challenge at Cute Card Thursday where the challenge is stars. I only made one star but it is big and is the focal point of the card. The glitter snow flake in the center with the red dot in the center make it stand out. I'm also entering this card in the sketch challenge at Pals Paper Arts.
I am entering this card in the challenge at Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #296. I really like this sketch and it was easy to come up with some inspiration that I liked. I found this adorable graphic of a little girl and printed it out. Then I printed out the sentiment on vellum with my laser printer and laminated it with red gold foil. I stamped out the poinsettia then scanned it into my computer to make it smaller. I again used vellum and my laser printer then hand cut them out.
I used cranberry ink to color them and then glued it together and added some glitter to make it sparkle. I arranged the whole thing on an embossed background and placed that on the red card base.
I embossed the card with a flower design and used my 3D craft paints to sponge color them. I embossed the smaller flower and colored it and added the metal green banners then added my sentiment. I loved the results of the this embossing folder, and just sponging on the color really made the flowers pop. This is a large embossing folder and will hold a 81/2 X11 size paper. It was fun cutting it down to an A2 size and choosing just the right part of the page I wanted.
