Tall and Skinny Challenge #463
The tall and skinny challenges are one of my favorites. It's so much fun to push the envelope to come up with something a little different, and this card is one I really like. There are several different techniques on this card so it took awhile to make. Lots of embossing, stamping and even some foil work are on this card. I have watched a lot of the YouTube videos for this technique and have wanted to try it for some time. I need to practice a little more, but for my second try its not bad. For my sentiment I printed out the words with my laser printer and then used my laminator to add the blue foil (I just realized I spelled Christmas wrong lol! Maybe I need to get stronger readers!) I also added some glitter Mod Podge over the image panel so everything sparkles when turned in the light. I used my punch to make some little snowflakes to add around the card to complete it. I have several tree stamps, but this one from StampInUps' Lovely As A Tree, is one of the best.

Sweet Sketch Wednesday Challenge
My Christmas cards are coming right along. This sketch challenge from Sweet Sketch Wednesday Challenge #2-96 is a cute layout, and it worked really well for my card. I used this mouse on my last card and wanted to use him again. I embossed the brown background paper with a design that reminded me of what the inside of walls might look like, and sanded it down a little to give it some added dimension. My card base is from Old Olive cardstock, but the other elements are made from scraps from my stash.

1st Christmas Card for this Year
I know that it is still early to start making my Christmas Cards, but I have some medical issues coming up in the near future, so wanted to start my cards early while I could still get up and move with some amount of comfort. I love the new Christmas stamps from StampinUp. This mouse is especially cute and so I used the color challenge #315 from Pals Paper Arts. This color combo works really well for this card. I stamped out the greeting in Dapper Denim, then stamped out the mouse image twice and colored one with my colored pencils. I fussy cut the sweater from the second stamped image and colored it with the So Saffron then glued it in place. The star is cut from a piece of glitter ribbon. I die cut my image in an oval shape and then cut a scalloped oval from Old Olive cardstock. I am also going to enter this card in a sketch challenge #62 at Stamp Ink Paper.

A Second Anniversary Card
My niece and her husband have an anniversary at the end of the month so I used the challenge #314 at Pals Paper Arts to inspire my card. I had some of the gold envelope liners that I have never used so I made a die cut with the Crafters Companion Guilt Frame for my vertical piece, then using a piece of parchment paper I stamped the sentiment and then put it horizontally on my card. My background paper is a piece of tinted script that I had in my stash. I also cut out a butterfly from colored paper and added that to my card. It's a very simple card but the gold foil makes it elegant.

One of Several Anniversary Cards
I have several anniversary cards to make this month, so using the sketch challenge at Paper Pals Arts, PPA challenge #312 as a take off point, this is my first card. I love this paper from StampinUp so I used it for my background. I then cut two hearts, added the sentiment to the larger one, inked the edges and then added faux stitching around the edges. I added some gold detail for a border and put it on a navy card base. Simple but pretty.
Now on to the next one!
