Two Cards  - Two Challenges

I have two cards to present today for two different challenges.  The first card is my first entry with this challenge site but I like it.  I will do more of them.  The sketch challenge site is The Cats Pajamas and its challenge #TCPTues282.  I needed to make a Thank You card for a really good friend and this sketch is great.  I used another free graphic from the Simply Cards and Papercraft magazine that I colored with my copic markers.  The green frame I die cut using the new WPLUS9  Holiday Aperture Die.  I love the stitch lines around the frame.  My other card is a Valentines card that I made for the challenge at Sweet Sketch Sunday challenge #253.  I really like how this card turned out.

Let's Celebrate

It's challenge time at Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge #284 and I made a Valentines Card for this challenge.  I also entered it at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge and the theme was Have a Heart, and a third challenge at Sunday Stamps, (SSC93). which was a color challenge using red and white and one other color, mine was black.  I also entered my card at Word Art Wednesday, challenge #167 - Anything Goes.  It's been a long time since I have been able to get so many challenges out of one card!  Fun.

I love the combination of red, white and black and all the hearts.  The image is a free digital image from the Simply Cards and Papercraft Magazine issue #131.   I used my copic markers to color the image and then added some glossy accents to the hearts.  I placed everything on a black card base.

On the inside of the card I die cut a scalloped heart in red, then added another heart in white with the sentiment Happy Valentines Day stamped in the center.  I love the layout of this sketch and it lends itself well to any theme.                                                                                                                  Judy

Birthday Perfection

I'm entering this card in the Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge #283.   I love Stella and this sentiment is so perfect for the recipient of this card.  I love the layout and the background paper that I used.  I used a Sizzix die cut for the oval shape and put my digi on the inside of the card.  It's a great way to high light the image.  Makes for a cute card.

Thank You

I needed a thank you card and used the sketch challenge at Mojo Monday for my design.  It was a simple card to make as I used a pre-made card as my base.  I used a strip of green card stock that was left from another project, and made the envelope from a piece of clear translucent card stock to hold the gift card.   I know the person receiving it will love it very much.

Jacob's Birthday

I made a card for a young great nephew today and entered it in a challenge at Creative Card Crew, challenge #78 - For a child.  I found this digi at Bugaboo Stamps and thought it was a great fit for this young boy.  I used my Sizzix star die for the star background and then layered on the colored digi.  I added touches of glitter to the balloons and the star plus little touches of glitter to the cowboy.  I'm sure he will love it.  Children always love getting something in the mail that came addressed to them!  It's a clean and simple card that makes a statement!

Game On!

My grandson's birthday was yesterday and this is the card that I made for him.  I used the sketch at Sweet Wednesday 2-40 as inspiration for this card.  He is really into Lacross and this made a great image to use on my card.  It's hard to find images that work for this age group, but this one was perfect.  Can't wait to hear what he thinks of his card.

Happy Anniversary

My niece had an anniversary on the 1st of the year and this is the card I made for her.  It's late and I really hope that I can break this cycle that has grown over the past year of always being late, but here it is.  I like the soft color of this paper and the sketch challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches #282,    was a good fit for this card.  I'm sure she will like it even if it is late!  I added faux stitching around the card and a punched border of hearts between the paper patterns.

A New Year and New Inspiration

The first card is for the challenge at Mojo Monday Sketch challenge #378.  This is a tall and skinny challenge and I needed a Thank You card so this sketch provided great inspiration.   I used Kraft card stock for the base of my card.  I added sparkly banner strips and then added the black and white striped paper for contrast.  The stamped shape is from Just Rite Stamps and I used my glitter pen to add sparkle to the roses.

My next card is for challenges at A Gem of a Challenge #135, Something New, and also over at Sweet Stampin where the theme is also New, and Simon Says Stamp something new challenge.  My nephew and his wife just had a little baby boy so these graphics were perfect for this panel card and the timing was just right to try this technique. (I saw a panel card demonstrated on You Tube and I really like this look. It's perfect for so many types of cards!)  I printed and then cut out the graphics and added glitter with my glitter pen to make them sparkle.  I used a border punch across the top and used a Sizzix nestable die cut to get the shape at the bottom of the card.  The last panel I left blank so that I can add a gift card for the baby.  I made the belly band to hold the card together and for my sentiment.  The card is smaller then what I generally do, but I think that is could be extended by adding another strip of card stock and making the panels wider. I need a birthday card for later this month and I think I will try another one making it larger.

I think I'm off to a good start for the new year.     Judy
